Music & Emotions
I used to struggle about music to play in the office. I was trying to make sure I didn’t offend anyone and that I fit in a preconceived idea of what should be played in a chiropractic office. But then I thought, You know, I have to listen to this all day long. I should enjoy it! So I chose all the things I like to listen to — things that have a good message, and things that just make you feel good. If it doesn’t make me feel good, then I pull it.
So you’ll hear all sorts of great music — Switchfoot, John Mayer, Chris Stapleton, Journey, The Eagles, First Aid Kit, One Republic, Zac Brown Band, Genesis. My musical taste has grown quite a bit. Music is an expression of life and I think it is critical in a chiropractic office. Our goal is to help express more life so I pick music that speaks life to me — songs that make you feel energized, that gives you goosebumps, that leaves you in tears just from the sheer talent coming through the speakers. It’s about passion, about expressing your heart through lyrics and tunes and music. You know, when someone really loves what they do, it shows and it becomes true artistry.
